Voices from Our Crew Members
Makoto EBIZUKA
Manager of Fund Raising Team
I live near the sea. Every time I went swimming or fishing, I was concerned about the amount of plastic waste and wanted to do something to solve the marine debris problem. I was introduced to the COE by one of my friends, and decided to join. I work in a general company during the week. I mainly work on weekends for COE.
Through the COE’s activities, I am aware of the difficulties of the marine debris problem and feel that I am contributing to solving this difficult problem. This motivates me to do the next activity. The COE also allows for flexible participation according to each individual’s situation.
Hideyuki IWASA
Manager of Human Resources Team
I think the COE is an organization that is moving forward and thinking about what we can do to solve the marine debris problem, and how we can solve this problem in a different way to the existing approaches.
The more members we have in the COE, the more we can do to solve the marine debris problem.
As the COE is a volunteer organization, the time that members spend on COE activities is limited. However, we are making steady progress towards “a different approach to the existing approach” because we are maximising our respective strengths, knowledge, skills, expertise, etc.
We are finding solutions to the marine debris problem that was previously considered difficult and neglected!
I look forward to working with you with COE members towards the world with zero marine debris.
